I’m having a bit of trouble with the quad cortex effects loop so hoping someone can help me!
When I’m plugging an external distortion into the fx loop I’m having sever tone and volume drop off. When using my base tone and adding an overdrive block from the QC, it works as it should, however when using an external pedal through the fx loop block, the volume and tone drop off is significant. When the FX loop block is still engaged, but the external pedal is turned off, the volume and tone drop off is still present, unless the return is on +12db and then the volume is equal but obviously the external pedal volume is super loud when I turn it on.
As well as this, when running a preamp pedal, such as a Revv G3 into the effects loop, there’s is little to no distortion, even with the gain maxed out, where as it functions as normal when placed directly infant of the QC in the input.
This hasn’t always been the case, as I’ve been using the Effects loop when playing live over the past year after I bought the quad cortex brand new.
have you tested all the cables and checked the mix/blend settings on the devices you’re looping in (if there are any)? Or loop the QC thru itself just to check the hardware?
Have you tried a reset/recovery on the QC? Is the issue happening on multiple presets?
Weird that it worked Ok for you before. Definitely need to contact Support@neuraldsp.com if you haven’t yet.
May as well ask the NDSP equivalent of “have you turned it off and back on again,”- are you using the factory power supply?
Thanks for a detailed response! I’ve already messaged neural about this so fingers crossed for a response soon.
It happens with any pedal with or without a blend knob on the external pedal. Using the stock power supply as all the cables have been checked and changed.
Unsure what you mean about looping the QC through itself?
I’ve not done a full reset, but I did do a soft reset where all presets were kept in the device.
When they say looping the QC with itself they mean using the effects loop without any pedals. So just a cable to the send/return to see if you notice signal loss with just that, or it’s the pedals causing it
