Hi all,
might seem a strange question, but it’s my first time using the Plini plugin, or any plugin at all for that matter. I know most people, if not all, use a usb audio interface to connect the guitar to the computer/ laptop when using plugins, but I’m wondering if it’s possible to use my actual amp.
I have a Line 6 Spider V which plugs directly into my laptop via usb, and i’ve tried to use the Archetype with it but i’ve had no luck so far. When i was using the standalone, i could get it to respond somewhat but still with my amp tone underneath. Is it possible to use my amp as the usb interface, and have all my tone come from the Plini plugin? If so, how?? If not, what should i do instead?
Kind regards from a plugin noob,
Sam
Hello @sam.fattorusso. Please remember, we can only ensure that the plug-in will work on your machine as long as you use an audio interface and meet the system requirements.

Okay @Gonzalo, makes sense, thought I might be able to get away with it using the amp. Are there any good audio interfaces you can suggest for me?
We recommend RME, Apogee, UAD and Focusrite interfaces.
I use an Audient iD14, it comes with a DI port for guitar. It’s pretty good, and it has a port that lets you connect one of their expansions in case you need more ports.
I use a Focusrite 2i2, works perfectly and it’s not expensive. You might be able to get a great deal for a used, 1st generation 2i2.
Thanks guys, really appreciate the advice! I hear a lot of good things about the Focusrite, and the Audient, so I’ll investigate further and decide which suits me best i guess
