Tone King Imperial Pedal, and my general disappointment on updates

I love my Tone King plugin. I use those tones a lot. I’ve been waiting a couple years now for X compatibility so I can use the plugin I bought with my QC. This is starting to feel like it’s not gonna happen. The introduction of the Nano seems to have taken momentum from X compatibility we were promised and I’m kind of losing faith. The pedal is about $900 CDN and although I hate the idea of having to spend that after buying the QC and the Neural plugin, should I swallow my frustration and wait? Does anyone have any info on upcoming X releases? I realize we were told how difficult these QC updates are but it’s been radio silence for a long time.

Well no info on upcoming X releases but i learnt recently, on another thread, that there is a possibility for the tone king NOT to be available on QC at all (true or false idk).

The lack of updates and also, since few months, the lack of updates news and the last news are a little bit concerning, it feels like the QC is quietly beeing pushed under the carpet.
But maybe (and hopefully) it’s because a massive and jaw dropping update will be released in our faces… :folded_hands:

I know it’s not the same but did you try to do captures of your favorite sounds from the ToneKing plugin?
If you have a second audio interface, this might be a temporary workaround.

“this might be a temporary workaround.”

And a lousy one at best. Many of us bought the QC on the basis of the capability to run the plugs but also as part of the monetary investment into them as part of the purchase. And as stated in the OP the likelihood they will ever be made importable grows dimmer with each passing week and silence on the part of NDSP.

And what a slap in the face to us QC owners to see all the effort that went instead to the Nano.

I was trying to help. Will never happen again…

Development demands by users is the same on all modeler forums. Always frustrated that things don’t move on our timetable.

Just because there is a new release for the Nano does not mean they aren’t in development on the QC. It is possible to do more than one thing at a time. They have begun to port plugins to the QC, and I imagine 3.2 will bring a lot of the things people have been waiting for. They always seem to take their time and then deliver big. But I bought my QC for what it is, not what it might become.

That is great for YOU, many bought it BECAUSE they said the plugins would be able to be used in the QC and we invested not just in the QC but their plugins. And they can allocate their limited resources as they see fit and apparently that means towards the NANO with it’s HUGE update just released and we QC owners left standing. Many on the verge of just giving up on them and moving on taking our loses.

And you were but as you said “a workaround” and certainly no where near what having the actual plugin capability. There are already Tone King and the other amps out on the cloud you can simply bring in. But it does not replace the product we paid for and still do not have.

I had more patience in the past, but since the communication and upgrade frequency of NDSP has degraded so much since November, I am, like you, highly disappointed. Even more so because I work on embedded software and I cannot understand at all why it takes ages to port these plug-ins.

However, I just don’t see the point of discussing this over and over again on this USER forum where NDSP is not even listening.

Ye they should be knockin the plugins out to beat the band…but all the marketing bs for the Nano and b4 the release these updates that’s gotta take up usefull time better spent elsewhere… I for one don’t need silly videos

have you tried the Tone King factory captures already on the QC (Tune Royal, I think it’s called)?
Some are really nice.
Right now, it’s all about finding workarounds till issues are addressed.
this is still all they’ve announced re: a PCOM schedule: PCOM Schedule - Quad Cortex Wiki

They communicated in March, so they are still sharing info currently. It just wasn’t what any of us wanted to hear.

I don’t think it’s pointless to vent, it lets them know we’re still expecting follow-thru. I’ve gotten less patient over time too, but the bottom line is it has always been this way- slow progress and sparse communication. That’s how they work. There is NO reason to expect this to change, realistically speaking. Accept that or move on to a different platform, that’s really our only options.

Guys…

BUT

if the plugins are White box done? Who knows? They sounds really well…

And QC Is based on black box. And this Is “ok”

Probably, due capture limits…are they porting the plugs in QC via White box coding?

Uhmmmmmmm

Well the March update was to tell us there was no updated news. That was what six weeks ago.

Did you read the update? Haha they definitely gave info. Just not that the update was ready yet.

“ Progress is steady, but we’re not quite at the beta stage yet.

We’ll share more details when CorOS 3.2.0 is approaching beta, including a closer look at what’s coming in the update.”

Well, this is my first post about it. And here we are. Discussing it.

Yes as I said “We’re still working on it” doesn’t update us on much does it.

Can this thread die already?
