I wrote this checklist, and it works for me. I use a Blackstar Live Logic Controller with a Dunlop expression pedal plugged in to EXP 1.
To use an expression pedal through a midi foot controller connected to the TRS midi in of the Nano Cortex. (NC)
On a midi foot controller, connect and set an expression pedal parameters to control CC# 1 range 0-127
On NC app, select the … and go to settings
In settings set midi/Expression pedal to Expression pedal
Exit menu
On NC app, select the … and go to Expression pedal
Set desired action. Gain, Capture volume, range…
Exit menu
Save Preset
On NC app, select the … and got to settings
In settings set midi/Expression pedal to midi
Now the pedal controls the actions selected.
Save Preset
NOTES:
Expression Pedal must be set to control CC#1 in the midi controller and midi out connected to NC TRS in.
This is set per preset and needs to be completed for each preset. Not a global setting.

To change the action, I repeat the checklist and make changes, then save.
