Tap tempo screen does not auto shows off

CorOS Version: 3.2.1

Describe your issue:
When you tap tempo, the tempo screen appears. If you press any footswitch (for example, change scene while screen is opened), then the tempo screen never auto shows off.

Steps to reproduce your issue:

  1. Tap tempo
  2. Change scene while tempo screen is on

I expected this to happen:

Previously, when we pressed any footswtich on tempo screen, the screen gets closed.
Now if we press any footswitch while tempo screen is on, the scene is changing. But then, the tempo screen never turns off automatically.

I’d expect it to work as before, or in case this change was intended, I’d expect the screen to auto turn off, without any manual action required.

For now, the only way to turn it of if clicking “Bank Up“ button.

Since I use MIDI to control effects automatically from a laptop, I cannot force the screen to quickly turn off anymore as before (because now fooswitches are changing scenes instead of closing the screen and because I don’t have a midi command that closes it).

Sometimes I get stuck in this screen and then I have to perform a manual action (bypressing Bank up footswitch), messing up all my automation.

have you reported this to Support@Neuraldsp.com ?

They need to know about it if this behavior is different than in the previous OS.

EDIT: I think you may have a bug or glitch specific to your unit, I am unable to reproduce your issue on mine. When I tap any switch while on the Tempo screen it closes the menu but doesn’t change the scene. If I do nothing, the Tempo screen auto-closes

No… just created the post here.

Which version are you using?? Here it has started this new version that adds some metronome features on the tempo screen.

Another thing I realized:
When using TAP tempo from Cortex Control, the tempo screen never shows (which is awesome, cause the screen doesn’t seem useful for live performances).

When TAP is made by pressing the footswitch or MIDI, the screen always shows.

It’d be very helpful if we have a feature flag in settings: “Show Tempo screen when TAP“, that allow us to replicate this behavior from Cortex Control…
For me (and a lot of other users already reported here), this screen is not a big deal for live performances, it just mess the experience.

you’ll need to contact Support@Neuraldsp.com to see if they can sort you out. They don’t monitor the bug reports here (strangely)

I’m on 3.2.1, which is the bugfix update after CorOS 3.2.0
