I’ve been experiencing sudden drops in output volume on my Quad Cortex for no clear reason.
It seems like a software glitch rather than a hardware problem, as switching to a different preset brings the volume back to normal.
Although this issue doesn’t happen often, it definitely makes me anxious, especially since it once occurred during a live performance.
This problem crops up randomly across different presets, with no identifiable pattern. Sometimes a 3-hour rehearsal session goes without any issues, but it happened again just 30 minutes after the start of yesterday’s rehearsal.
I am using only the original power supply, and the large volume knob is assigned solely to control the headphone output. CorOS Version: 3.1.0
Has anyone else come across this issue? I’d really appreciate any advice. Thank you!
There have been multiple complaints about flaky volume control encoders. Does your volume control change the volume smoothly? Turning the control up and down multiple times may temporarily stop this problem. You might try unassigning the volume control from the outputs feeding your monitoring device (power amp, mixer, FRFR cab, etc). If the volume fluctuations stop, the problem might be the volume control encoder. If so, the only way to resolve it is to have the encoder replaced.
However, my issue isn’t with the volume encoder. My volume control works perfectly and smoothly, without any fluctuations.
The problem I’m experiencing is that the volume drops significantly for no apparent reason. To bring the volume back to its normal level, I have to switch to a different preset or restart the device entirely.
