Splitter behaving differently in 3.0.0

Maybe I’m imagining things, but I could swear that before updating to 3.0.0:

  • The splitter in Balance mode divided the signal in half for each path, which amounted to a 3dB weaker signal in each path compared to the original
  • The A/B type splitter though, copied the original signal to each path and then you could control each path gain individually

Now after the update, both splitter types seem to behave the same (minus the extra controls in A/B mode). Either the A/B splitter is also dropping 3dB per path, or the balance mode is no longer splitting the signal in half.

This matters because if you’re not aware, your existing presents will sound differently if you have parallel amps, as the front of the amps will be hit with different strength. This is also easy to compensate in the A/B splitter by adding/removing gain, but just wanted to check I’m not dreaming this stuff.

Your description of the pre 3.0.0 behaviour ist definitely correct. Can’t test if that really changed with 3.0.0 right now. Maybe ask neural themselves through support@neuraldsp.com
