How am I meant to update cortex control if I can’t get on the site, my quad is already updated to latest but control isn’t. To me it seems the website is lock to the coming soon

Yep, that’s not cool at all. Someone didn’t think this through at neural. Write a mail to support@neuraldsp.com

I’ve emailed support and this is definitely a brain dead moment for the company

They updated the site with links to Cortex Cloud and Support.

But if you navigate to the downloads page it takes you back to the landing page :joy:

Seems interesting enough. I get the small form factor craze. Had ToneX released the tiny little pedals (ToneX one or whatever it’s called) a couple of months earlier, I’d be in that ecosystem instead of a QC. I do like the sounds I get from my QC, so if they can replicate that and deliver with a smaller form factor - good for them. Seems like a lot of members on this forum are what I would consider to be “Power Users” so the lack of foot switches and displays may not be the best option for them. But if you are just looking to have a small pedal that can run a stereo amp capture (plus a couple of other things, IR’s, EQ, comps etc), and the price is right - this could be a pretty solid option.

All, thanks for the feedback. I have escalated directly to support as well. Thanks!

I agree totally. I have the QC running a “digital/direct” board. I also have my old analog pedalboard to run into an amp and I have thought for a long time of putting a Tonex one on there to make it a more hybrid rig. I could see this going alongside some analog pedals nicely on a board

I’ve said this before on here, but I’d love to have just the brain of the QC in the smallest possible enclosure and great connectivity options, maybe an led numeric display to know what patch you’re in. No big touchscreen, no switches, only power and volume/output knob.

Congratulations to NDSP Staff for developing this tiny box. However, I started to raise suspicions about the company, and that is why!

The already in market top selling unit Quad Cortex Unit is quite small and weightless compared to similar units. They advertised it that way too. It is said to be the most powerful floor unit in the world AND yet it has “toooo many” flaws and restrictions that other brands do not have. Instead of making it better and flawless, the company obviously coping with other issues (more pragmatic issues I guess) such as plugin COM and creating this new unit…

Dear NDSP,
The QC unit has too many feature requests from users all around the world. Many of those requests are not dreams, actually they are already used in all of other brand’s units. I would like to see real performance and live use based developments on QC instead of new outcomes of the company every month. I am sure that all QC users would support my point.

Thank you and best regards.

The Nano feels kind of like a mis step for Neural tbh. The QC UI overall is way better than the other modelers out there since it has the touchscreen and all the encoders on the switches. Somehow they released a new version of it, and it’s physically designed worse than a Mooer bootleg

Thankfully the design of this pedal is so stripped back that I don’t feel any need to get it. Really strange it just seems to load captures and not actual models of the amps(?)

I would have figured they would have had their amp models load on the smaller unit?? Overall seems strange

HELSINKI, FINLAND, September 18, 2024 — Neural DSP today announced the launch of Nano Cortex, an ultra-powerful digital amplifier, cabinet simulator… I think it has models aswell

Honest question: isn’t this a worse version of the helix stomp since the signal path is fixed?
I know, it’s different, as it has capture technology and app integration, but also drawbacks like only 2 foot switches and no screen.

It’s more like a Tone X than a Stomp.

Gapless Preset switching

Hmm… and QC no?

Looks pretty awesome to me.
Unfortunately about 10-12 months too late for me to be in the market. Looks like you can run a stereo amp setup in the rig with direct out to PA. So price wise, and footprint wise, it might have an edge to (2) toneX ones + a stereo DI box.

Nice job, Neural.
