Soldano X sounds off

Hi there,

I have Soldano X, bought off the back of a lot of reviews I watched. The issue is that it sounds nothing like any of the reviews I have seen. The default is very bassy and gained out and congested. All the presets are unusable. I need to turn the gain down to 2 or 3 and same with the bass.

I’m using an Apollo twin with gain at zero, nothing in console, medium gain passive pups.

I have tried pre eq and need heaps of post eq, tried third party irs. Something is wrong in the set up because I have had the same problem with other plugins, Neural and others.

I appreciate there are a lot of variables when watching demos but when Bea loads up the default and it sounds awesome and mine sounds like shit, unless they are doing a heap of post processing and not telling viewers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, not sure what to tell you other than, Soldano X sounded at least as good, or better, than the previous version. No issues on my end. It sounds awesome with stock settings and I use it often.

This right here. You might need to look into your Apollo setup.

You should also consider your playback device. Are you using studio monitors or headphones? If you have a QC have you used that through the same monitors or headphones?

Yeah I’m sure it is something to do with the DI and not the plug in itself but I don’t know what it wrong. The UAD forum are no help, like most forums people get defensive which is not helpful.
