Signal bleed between Input 2 → Input 1 outputs

Hi all,

My band’s been running a single Quad Cortex for both guitarists — Input 1 → Output 1 (FOH/IEM) + Output 3 (power amp/2x12 cab), and Input 2 → Output 2 (FOH/IEM) + Output 4 (power amp/2x12 cab).

It’s been rock solid for about a year with no issues, but recently we’ve started noticing something weird — the signal from Input 2 is bleeding into Input 1’s outputs. It doesn’t happen the other way around.

For example, if Input 1 has an octave pedal on and Input 2 doesn’t, you can faintly hear Input 2’s signal with the octave effect through Output 1 (IEM/FOH) and Output 3 (2x12 cab).

Has anyone else run into this? I remember seeing another thread about signal bleed being firmware-related, but I can’t remember which version I’m on. Is there any way to roll back to a specific firmware?

Appreciate any help!

No operating-system roll-backs, unfortunately.

Have you contacted Support@neuraldsp.com yet?

I would double check the routing chain. Most likely something has weird panning or routing. But there is no way of rolling back the firmware.

I was afraid of that.

I was going to contact them if the community was unable to assist. Thanks!

We’ve tried everything from creating a new preset to modifying old ones - same result each time.

It’s been super frustrating especially since it worked well for the last year.

Perhaps I can upload the preset and have someone look at it. Maybe I’m missing something or a feature change.

Yep, that’s a good idea for troubleshooting. Link it here

Here’s the link to the preset. Hopefully someone can spot something that I don’t!

I’m testing it now and so far can’t duplicate what you’re describing. Everything looks completely isolated.

I put in a Looper and let it run a loop set to Input 1 and 2, then solo’d all lanes- no spillover detected.

Are you using any wireless gear, or are both guitars connected to QC by cable? Can you try the Looper trick to rule out any outside causes?

It’s possible your unit is experiencing some sort of hardware failure- you’ll definitely want to chat with Support@neuraldsp.com

Appreciate you trying the preset.

I’ll have to keep looking into it, but I did e-mail support.
