Shutdown or Standby on extended periods

Hey, bedroom guitarist here. I got rid of my Scarlett interface and multi-fx pedals and decided to invest in this Quad Cortex. But man, this thing heats up super fast when it’s connected to my PC. Even when I put it on standby, it’s still warm hours later if I haven’t used it. Should I just power it off completely when I’m not actually using it? Thing is, I’m on my PC like 12 hours a day 'cause I work from home, and I actually use the QC for my mic input during meetings. Plus, my PC acts as my personal server, so I pretty much never turn it off.

I don’t know how hot your unit is getting, but there’s not a good reason to have it powered on (even in standby) if you’re not actively using it.

Might be a good idea to disable any inputs or outputs you’re not using (when you are using the QC), and lower your screen or LED brightness.

Remember that if you power it down, a power failure and restoral will automatically power up the QC as long as its plugged in so if you want it powered off, remove the power cable from the QC and or install an inline switch to prevent auto booting etc.

Thanks, found a solution, realized I was still using my guitar rig preset on 1A even when I’m not using the guitar and it uses high CPU% which causes it to warm up. So I made new preset for Desktop that only uses the Mic and headphones and CPU usage dropped down to 6% and the unit is completely cooled off now. I’ll consider buying a power conditioner surge protector with inline switch like the mod adviced. But in the case it auto boots after a power failure I hope it boots up on the desktop preset.

It will boot up to whichever preset you had on it most recently before shutting it off
