I’m probably just too stupid, but I can’t figure out how to hook up the QC correctly to my macbook to get spotify on the headphones.
I connected the QC via USB and I selected it as the output device in the system preferences. Unfortunately I can’t choose the channel and it defaults to 1/2. Now 1/2 automatically go to Out 1/2 and the QC and I can’t route 1/2 to the headphones, that will output out 3/4.
Is there a way to make either the default sound on the mac go to 3/4 OR (preferrably) route 1/2 to the headphones on the QC? This behaviour is kind of silly.
You probably require a DAW just like any other multiple routing device. At least on PC that is the case but maybe there is a ASIO type app for MAC that adds routing for multiple outputs.
Is the volume knob turned up? Have you opened the Headphone mixer (swipe down for the output page and “click” the headphone input)? With USB connected, I get the Mac default audio straight through on the left mix knob plus the the guitar with all FX on the right knob. Perfect for practice.

It’s pretty weird. I found the place in the mac settings where I can set up the output channels. I switched to 3/4 and that worked, but shortly after I had a weird sound. Turned out I was getting only the right channel, but to both ears. Then a little bit later I got no sound from USB at all. I had to switch the mac to send on 1/2 again and now it works like I would have expected from the get go. But that made me really nervous about using the qc live…
Hey @spray. As Mike already suggested, please send us a ticket to support@neuraldsp.com so we can troubleshoot these issues.
Thanks!
I would, but I can’t reproduce it. Just for clarification is there any feature that I don’t know of and might have triggered accidentally where we can select which usb channel is routed to the headphones?
@spray Not really. If the QC is set as the default audio device, you will always hear the computer audio through Out 1/2 and Headphone out.
