Buy a Fcb1010 then… Cause I’m getting 8 scenes and 8 stomps… Does the raider have banks
Pass on that. Fracl@l gave me a response that suits my needs. The B floor board may work for your needs, but not mine. I play a lot of gigs a week that requires a variety of sounds and control. The QC is not there in regards to control.
Quad Cortex order- CANCELED
Talk to you guys in 5 years lol
I think I play more though… Just kidding… You should have read the manual the info you needed is in there in black and white
I’m still confused. What was the problem again?
If I’m not totally wrong, we can control 8 stomps and 8 scenes by MIDI, right?
What am I missing?
Really not trying to argue just want to understand…
Ah maybe it’s that the OP wanted to have 10 stomps and 5 scenes?
I use the 2 expressions for momentary switching works well… So can be done… Just forgot to mention that
And sorry, really only curious:
You can have 5 different amps and 10 footswitches in one preset on a Fractal unit?
I thought it’s one amp only for FM3 and two amps for FM9.
You hit the nail on the head
I’ve read the manual, quite extensively. Have I been pulling Quad Cortex terms (Hybrid, Stomp, A-H switch assignments) out of my A$$? Sometimes there are work arounds.
I’m looking for 5 different scenes. You are correct about the amount of amps for each unit.
Ok, sorry that the QC did not meet your demands.
For me, I tested FM3 and I just couldn’t stand the awkward user interface and incredible complexity to get a descent sound. And the limitation for one amp.
FM9 form factor was too big for my use cases.
But each to his own, I guess
Thinking about it, maybe I should go to the Fractal forums and tell the users there that I think their units are crap?
I rehearse online with many many musicians from all over the globe…
And for my money the QC sounds better and I really don’t care what the other modellers do better after that…that’s my opinion but I’ve heard many peeps use them… And they asking me what are my settings and trying to replicate it… There not beginners either…
That’s my point as well. When I tried moving away from real Marshals or other tube amps, I first tried Helix. I was constantly tweaking the unit but never happy with the sound and feel.
Then I tried an FM3 that a friend of mine owned. Similar here, I tweaked the 2.000 parameters, but it did not feel like an amp.
Then the QC. For me it was the first unit where I created a preset in 5mins that sounded great and it also felt like playing a real amp.
And that is more important to me than how I can configure the foot switches or if the Midi implementation is a bit more complex than other units.
The sound of the QC is better than other modelers I’ve used. I think that part is awesome. Just wish they would get the midi and footswitch options to be up to speed with the rest of the competition. If you’re getting a QC, there’s a decent chance it’s also to use it for more than just a dad rock Marshall sound with an overdrive.
I was bummed when my QC stopped working recently and it had to get sent for repair. In a year and a half I’ve had two units stop booting. Didn’t have that issue with Helix or Kemper. I’ve had a Kemper for nearly 10 years, and Helix for about 3
Ye that’s it for me it felt and actually sounded like a tube amp… I’m playing nearly 40yrs and don’t play dad rock but there’s nothing wrong with playing that slightly insulting thing to say ( I know you didn’t say it ) but I’ve got my midi board running and doing everything the QC does…
And what the QC does is fine from asking my friends using the fractal told me they have same type of modes stomp scene etc etc and they have to put it in each mode also… Anyway sound and feel 1st and foremost midi works a charm… Fractal does this boss does that headrush UI is better bla bla bla… Everybody should get the one that does what they need it to do and stop moaning…
It’s ok to like the unit a bunch, but also have critiques on how it could improve. It’s not that wild of stuff to ask. I’m fine with being realistic about the QC and not just thinking it’s the absolute greatest thing. I love what Neural has been doing and they make amazing tools
I’ve had the QC for almost 3 years, love it! The feel is great, the sounds are great AND it’s been very dependable. What’s irritating to me is the lack of midi on/off control of the individual device blocks. Neural provided this on SOME things, the Looper for instance but I can’t understand why they continue to avoid adding that ability to ALL of the devices. It’s like they are holding back because they’re in the process of making a proprietary pedal board (i.e. like the Fractal). Who knows? But…the idea of tying the devices to the switches is ridiculous and limiting.
I’m happy to hear that the 1010 provides the ability to do an 8/8+…that’s great but some of us want/need more flexibility and we’re NOT getting it because the QC is locked down. (BYW, belly-aching is what this forum is for! How are things going to improve without feedback both good and bad? It’s NOT ridiculous to ask Neural for capabilities that EVERY OTHER MODELER HAS!)
The idea of them holding back on midi/flexibility with the foot switches is quite strange. Companies like this need actual feedback from the people using them so they can understand how to improve
