Reverb IR loader

Hi All,

I’ve just seen the Anderson’s video covering the Poly Verb. I use my QC to record drums (from drum machine), bass, acoustic and ofc guitar. And was thinking how cool it would be to be able to use third party captures spaces, from studio rooms for example, to help mix them.

We already have a structure for loading Cab IR’s, surely this is possible?

I wonder how a reverb impulse would sound loaded in the cab IR block?

edit: I guess there would be a lot of missing parameters. Low pass, high pass, decay, pre-delay etc.

Generally, the reverb impulses are just too large for the QC’s current limit on IRs. The IR would be dramatically truncated. Maybe a really short/small one might be interesting.

Yeah that’s the problem, the system is plenty capable of handling bigger IR’s. I don’t know if this is a pretty niche feature to ask for but I think it would be really useful.

You got my vote. I have a huge collection of reverb IRs. I’m surprised this is the first request for it.

I have read on Fractal’s site that higher resolution IRs with longer lengths and a higher number of samples incur a significant processing penalty. Probably why none of the modelers I am aware of accept IRs of the size you would want to truly take advantage of reverb IRs. Might introduce latency or other issues. Will be great when they can pull it off with no issues though. Might be another generation of modeler or two first but you never know.
