Hello, I have had my quad cortex for about 2 years now. Never had a problem.
Now after updating to 3.2.1 randomly i get this loud noise. Not every day, but it’s the third time that it randomly happens, I can’t reliably bring it on stage.
I don’t know which input, when it happens, all input and out in the i/o settings appear to be maxed out.
Last time it happened I was reamping my classic guitar into some effects of the FX loop.
Here is an audio. Does this happen to anyone? I already contacted neural support, but this never happened before the latest updates.
Yikes. Does it happen when you don’t have USB connected? I’ve never been able to get a reliably good sound via USB.
I would email support: support@neuraldsp.com - gather as much data as you can (and make sure you have the correct FW version, since the one you mentioned is not correct). They’re going to ask you a ton of details.
The rear of the qc is pretty full, between midi, send/return and usb. I have to try it without usb, but I use it 99% of the time for cortex control.
Cortex control version is the lastest. 1.3.1 is cortex control, my bad
You use USB while you gig (on stage)? I would try it without USB. That sounds like a computer-triggered glitch. If it works fine without USB and you need USB for something, plug it in to edit it, then disconnect it when you don’t need it.
Hate to say it, but NDSP majorly dropped the ball on this unit with USB and MIDI - might just have to deal with it and work around its limitations.
You should still submit a help ticket (keep us posted), but, if it works fine without USB being connected, I suspect you’re gonna get the same answer I got (which is, basically, deal with it).
this sucks… gonna try this way, thank you
