Question about PCOM and X plugins

I hope y’all will forgive me if my question isn’t clear; I have almost no familiarity with the subject of plugin licensing.

I know that if I was to buy a plugin to run on a DAW, I’d need an iLock account and probably an iLock physical key.

If anyone from NDSP is able to answer this now, it would be helpful to me: When PCOM becomes available, will I need an iLock account to use an X plugin only on the QC?

This update from last September has a lot of info on X plug-ins and PCOM.

Thanks for that. If I am interpreting that article correctly, I will have to have an iLock account in order to use an X plugin.

Now that I think about this from NDSP’s perspective, it makes sense. They’re selling a plugin that can be used on my QC and a DAW, so of course the license protection would have to cover the broadest case.

Yes, you will need an iLock account, the same as what you need for their PC/MAC plugins. Having the account will unlock the plugin to use on the QC.

Thanks, everyone.
