NDSP accounts and iLok

Hi,
Quick question about accounts. In my band, we are two guitarist who share all our plugins as we both do all the recording for our entire band and we live in different places of our country. All our albums are recorded with Ndsp plugins that myself or the other guy have bought.
Now we are going on tour, and since i have the QC (he is a kemper guy…) i want to recreate the tones on the QC, but some of the X-plugins are on his ndsp(ilok) account.
I cant figure out if i can access his plugins om my QC, since his plugins are linked through his iLock to his Ndsp account…

Is this possible? what would be the best course of action?

AFAIK you would need to log into his NDSP account on your QC. You can’t link the same ilok account to two different NDSP accounts at the same time. I tried this sort of thing recently with a band mate and I couldn’t get access to the plugins he has + the ones I have to load at the same time.

BUT you might be able to have your friend unlink his ilok account to his NDSP account, and then link it through your NDSP account. That way all the ilok licenses might end up connecting when you open the QC. Haven’t tried this yet myself though. They allow you to link three (?) ilok accounts to the same NDSP account for a scenario like yours.

Did someone sort this out?
I wonder what the 3 accounts are good for as iLok does not recommend creating a second iLok account.
So my daughter plays guitar and uses my QC, but she bought different plugins on her NDSP account and her iLok account. How can I have both on the QC?

You can link multiple ilok accounts to a NDSP account, but you can’t link multiple NDSP accounts to one ilok account.

Ok but my daughter has her own QC but not at home. So she would need to unlink her iLok on her account when coming home and link it to my QC? I don’t really see the logic here maybe

One of you would need to unlink their Ilok to the Neural DSP account that it’s linked to. You can’t link one Ilok account to multiple NDSP accounts. You can have multiple Quad Cortex’s on a NDSP account.

All of that can be done through the NDSP website. You don’t need the Quad Cortex with you in person to adjust that.

You and your daughter would then share the same NDSP login. Then you can log in to that account with both Quad Cortex’s and have access to the same plugins at the same time.

The only time during the process that you’ll need the physical unit is when you log in to the Neural account with the Quad Cortex’s. All of the other stuff is just via the Neural website.

Otherwise you both would need to just buy the plugins for your respective Ilok/NDSP accounts.

Thanks @SelfTitledLP

I just wonder how I can use the 3 iLok accounts?
And so I can share my NDSP Account and iLok account with any person with a QC who didn’t buy any plugin, but not with my daughter who has a QC and bought plugins…?
Haha that’s enough reflections on a friday afternoon.

Have FUN

They’re probably assuming a band (two guitars and bass) could have a NDSP account and share stuff, or a studio with a couple engineers.

Ilok is very weird about sharing of anything, so this is Neural’s workaround to make it easier for bands I think. They’re two completely different companies
