Morning all.
First post, happy to be here etc.
I’m trying to run my QC into a UAD Apollo audio interface. Yep using USB might be easier in some cases but not for mine due to how I’m set-up.
I’m having an issue where there is no audio coming from the QC to the Apollo. I’m running a split TRS (2 mono to single TRS) from output 3/4 on QC to input 1 on Apollo (set to line not mic). Nothing is registering on the Apollo. I look at the QC and see spikes on the Out level for output 3/4, I hear sound when I use headphones, but nothing showing in the UA Console app on that line in, or coming through the monitors.
Any ideas? Is it the cable I’m using? Will a split 2 mono tp single stereo TRS work between these two?
Thanks in advance.
Confused why you’re using a TRS cable with a dual mono split. You can just use a normal instrument cable for this purpose, since you’re recording a mono signal with the interface anyways.

@SelfTitledLP That is a good question. I assumed (maybe incorrectly) that using mono would have a negative effect on FX such as reverb and delays.

If you’re recording the signal mono anyways it doesn’t matter
I think the point is that the Input on the interface is usually mono (I don’t use an Apollo and you didn’t specify which exact model, but for the Mic/Combo inputs this is usually the case)
If you want a stereo signal, you have to use two inputs. So in your example Output 3/4 on QC to Input 1/2 on Apollo.
Definitely use a pair of TRS to TRS cables into a pair of inputs on the Apollo, there is absolutely no point in doing it any other way.
Also on the Apollo, depending on which model you have, make sure that Console is listening to the right input (between Instrument, Line/TRS and Mic/XLR).
Thanks I didn’t think that the inputs on the Apollo might not be stereo, what a dumbass I am.
Will get a pair of cables and switch things out when needed. Thanks all
