I am looking into getting a amp modeler because I have out grown my Line 6 Firehawk FX. I am familiar with the Line 6 Helix and the Fractal Audio Axe fxiii markII. Both have a model of a Dumble Amp. The Axe fxiii markII has the better one between it and the Helix. (I also am aware of the Kemper but I just don’t like the unit at all.) After seeing the way the Quad Cortex can be used and the easy way to operate it with the touch screen. I would love to have one. Does anyone know if there is a Dumble Amp model out there yet for the Quad Cortex. For what I play and write with my electric guitars I need to have a Dumble Amp sound. (Specifically the Steel String Singer version of the Dumble Amp.) If the Quad Cortex doesn’t have a Dunble Amp model it is of no use to me no mater how powerful this modeler is. I know I could just go an model a Dumble Amp since the Quad Cortex has those capabilities, however where would you find one that the owner would let you model it in the first place; and in the second place to buy one who has $175,000 to $200,000 to buy one. Modeling is the only way for most guitar players to get the sound. ( The dedicated pedals for the Dumble Amp sound don’t cut it either. I have looked into them.) Right now I am leaning to the Axe FXiii Mark II. My problem is that I love the way the Quad Cortex is setup and programed, specially with the touch screen and drag and drop fetchers. It has the perfect work flow, but so far I can’t seem to find the right Amp models I need. If anyone has any info on this issue please help.
It will not have a Dumble model or factory capture at launch. They demoed a Dumble model at NAMM last year and the Cory Wong plugin has a D-style amp so it likely have one available at some point but if it’s a must-have, you’ll probably want to wait.
