QC Tone changes depending on output port

Is it possible that the quad cortex headphone output (which in my case merges all the outputs: 1/2 and 3/4) is producing a different guitar tone than output 3/4 (alone) when actually the headphones output is blending together the output 3/4 (used for the guitar with TRS cables) and output 1/2 (used for microphone/vocals with XLR cables)?

It is frustrating spending days and weeks carefully carving and adjusting your best presets guitar tones using IEMs connected to the QC headphones output, and then experiencing a different tone coming out of Output 3/4.

Any solution?

Depends how you have stuff routed and if 1/2 + 3/4 have different signals routed to them. 3/4 isn’t just for TRS btw.

If the way you stuff routed to the headphones is blending those outputs together, then yes they will sound different. If not, there shouldn’t be any difference.

To clarify the setup: guitar goes into IN1 and signal exit to OUT3/4 while the microphone goes into IN2 and signal exits OUT1/2.

My point is that the TONE of the guitar I am hearing when using the HEADPHONES output with in-ear monitors (Ultimate Ears UE5) should be the same I am hearing when using output 3/4…. Which unfortunately is not the case, and that is why I’m wondering if the overall tone coming out from the Headphones output may be altered by the kind of input received (and possibly the type of cables used to connect: which is something I read on other chats). Many thanks

Are you by chance enabling/using Global EQ?

No. I use the Global EQ only on stage if necessary to adjust to the venue room.

However, I did find out now a great improvement in the tones by reducing the outputs levels of the QC to -12dB, and leave it to the mixer/amps to add the necessary gain (fyi input level is at 0dB for the guitar).

There are still differences in tone, depending on the equipment, but not so dramatic as before, and adjustable with some EQ (before it was impossible).

Hope this helps others in the future
Thanks
