QC - has no way to control tempo via midi

I have realized that I’m gonna have to return my QC. I use midi clock to control my preset delays but if activated on the QC it creates a terrible warble sound when Sync is set to on.

This clash has to do with usb receiving midi clock info. And there is no solution to this problem …
NDSP hasn’t made any options for CC to adjust tempo either…. So unfortunate cause it sounds amazing but this is a deal breaker ….

Unfortunately this problem has been noted for years now but not addressed by manufacturers…!!
So disappointing !!!

Hey man, sorry to hear about this. I know exactly how frustrating these things can be when they don’t work they way you need it to.

Are you using an external device to send midi clock to the QC? To either end, I imagine you’ve already had a good read of the QC manual? Page 85 to be precise:

It is important that you have the right settings enabled for your desired outcome. I encourage you to have another read and go through the set up process with the rest of your gadgets one more time. It does take a good bit of figuring out and of course the kinks are never intuitive.

For me: I use an MC3 to send MIDI clock to my QC. The MC3 is connected using a DIN cable. So in settings, I have to set MIDI Clock Out - OFF

I also have MIDI Thru Turned on so the MIDI Clock info passes onto another pedal I have in QC’s Loop.

In the Tap Tempo screen therefore I’m set to Global mode, so that no matter what Preset or Scene I’m on, it’s operating in my required tempo.

Okay and lastly about the warble QC puts out when changing tempo in Scene mode — when switching from one Scene to another Scene — yea that can be super bothersome when I’m at my desk. In live situations, there’re too many things going on in my in-ears for me to notice the warble, imo.

I don’t notice a warble when changing tempo going from one Preset to another Preset, cos well… QC can’t do gapless Preset switching.

Anyway, not much of a note of help, more a sharing from my own use-case-scenario.

Onwards to the next tone-hunt adventure bud!

If it makes any difference, only the analog-style delays do the warble. The digital delays don’t

Thanks - very helpful - wish we could secure MC3 here in South Africa but seems to work with the old USB ONO by Roland . I’m gonna give it a try
