When I had a Tonex pedal, I purchased a Tonex capture of a Matchless Independence 35 amp that lives in my Tonex1 pedal… I’m wanting to get that capture in my QC - can I capture a capture and is it worth it… in reference to sound degradation….. the capture process is new to me. TIA
A capture of a capture will result in a loss of quality , some capture are more subject to that loss of quality than others…
try by yourself, using V1 then V2 capture and check if it is worth the pain…
You can find a lot of VST Amp capture in the cloud (ie: a capture of Neural DSP Archetype Petrucci , etc..) and it is roughly the same ‘problem’ , but sometimes it is the only option…
When you capture anything, you don’t capture the sound, but the thing that makes the sound.
You can’t capture your capture. But you can capture the Tonex One, which runs the capture.
And yeah, capturing always reduces the quality a bit. So in theory, if you do that 1000 times, it will sound like shit. But doing it only a few times can work absolutely fine.
I had the same question, so I captured a few Tonex EVH brown sound captures and they sound identical. I’m really pleased.
