PRODUCTIVITY KILLERS on QC

Context: Fractal user for 4 years, just changed to QC because I do like the tones I’m getting better. However, I’m missing key features (or good alternatives):

  1. MASSIVE PRODUCTIVITY KILLER: lack of GLOBAL option to set Input 1 to either Physical (Instrument) or Digital (USB). That drives me insane. When I’m playing then switch to reamping, or vice-versa, I need to change the inputs ON EACH PRESET INDIVIDUALLY. I feel like throwing the QC out of the window when that happens (every day in my workflow).

  2. MULTIBAND COMPRESSOR: a must-have in most modern metal tones. The workaround of using the splitter to send to another lane and compress below a given threshold is terrible, because it A) requires and full lane to be wasted, and B) it squashes below ~90Hz which shouldn’t happen (watch Josh Middleton’s videos on the topic to understand why). We need a simple, one-block MBC. There’s a feature request with 150+ votes from 2021 asking for this! It can’t be that hard.

  3. SPLITTER-MIXER: each pair takes a full lane, hence not allowing multiple pairs per core. Additionally, make it not waste one full slot, i.e. the send and return should be allowed to be the same point.

  4. UX ISSUES: In Downloads in Cloud Control, there’s no way to sort by Date Downloaded! That is terrible, because let’s say I download 10 presets from a really cool Staff Picks - now good luck finding those 10 presets! They’re scattered all over the Downloads folder.

  5. UX ISSUES #2: in Directory view in Cloud Control, when you drag a preset onto another setlist (to move it), a screen pops up but instead of showing the setlist where the preset was dragged onto, it defaults to the first setlist. Very counterintuitive and made me make mistakes multiple times, copying to the wrong setlist.

Thank you. Again, I do like the TONES I’m getting, but these PRODUCTIVITY KILLERS are driving me insane with the QC.

Any alternative ideas or folks agree with me?

Well put on all counts. I too love the QC tones better than any of the other boxes, but I’ve ran into a few snags. The biggest obstacle for me is that, by default, the Factory Preset Bank is the first bank as MIDI sees it, and the User Presets are bank two. If I’m trying to control my QC from an external Midi source that is outputting patch change data, it would be convenient if I could make the User Preset bank into the first bank that MIDI sees. Hope that made sense.

The mere fact that I have to go to great pains to integrate new sounds into existing presets as scenes in order to use them in songs, because switching between presets takes too long, is the number one productivity killer for me. But seamless switching has already been mentioned elsewhere.
