Preset advice for acoustic guitar (Gibson Hummingbird)

Hello, i want to use my hummingbird with quad cortex.
My question is about the amp. What can I use for this ?
Thanks.

I’d recommend starting with a nice, balanced and resonant acoustic IR. Drop in an EQ block post IR then a studio styled compressor. If your pickup has a lot of exaggerated low-end thump (many do), drop in another EQ at the beginning of the chain and use a high-pass band to trim the fat before being processed by the other blocks. I like using a fair amount of compression with piezo pickups as they tend to be a bit strident. If you’re loosing pick attack, go for a slower attack setting on the comp and/or mix in some uncopressed signal to allow some transients through. Season to tast with delay, reverd, etc… This generally works for me anyway. Hope this helps.

Another thing to note, watch the high end. To much and you’ll sound l Iike a mosquito in a band mix. To little and it will sound like an electric guitar.

Worth mentioning that acoustic guitars can sound great with no amp or cab IR. Just some EQ, compression, delay, reverb as @PickinPete mentioned. I like having some chorus on tap too for thickening things up a bit on the right tune. I always set up a boost on a footswitch for solos as well.

I captured an IR of a Gibson Hummingbird; it gives the body resonance and response that’s missing with a piezo pickup. Might help round out your signal chain
