Power Blocks to power you QC

I’m using a Moen MISO-8 power supply on my board, which has AC passthrough - i’m using a very short extension cord to connect that passthrough socket with the QC power supply so that it can sit flush under my board next to the Moen.

It’s not as elegant a solution as a power supply that will run the QC directly, but it’s a helluva lot cheaper, and I still only have one power socket to plug in for a gig, I have plenty of power for other pedals, and i know i’ll never lose the QC power supply because it’s strapped under my pedalboard!

Check out Reverb. This guy makes them and the prices are reasonable.

Link? Thanks! …

Works awesome and you can find all sorts of C7 adapters to use instead of the wall plug they ship with it.

I bought the very first Sweetfoot QC power supply and it’s still working perfectly. It’s powered up almost all the time and there’s never been a glitch. Plus there’s a lot of power to run 9v devises if I ever want to add anything.

I bought a Krisdonia power supply. Why can’t I use the DC out into my Quad Cortex? All I have for the board is the QC and the Mission dual expression pedal made for Neural. Everybody seems to be using another type of USB relay device and I just don’t understand. Help anyone please?

I have a related question for the DC7 owners:
Since buying the QC, I’ve sold off most of my pedals. I already have a DC7 and had planned to sell it as well. I don’t gig anymore. I use my QC on my desktop (have an MC8 on the way). Using the DC7 made a noticable difference in my previous pedalboard. How much would I benefit from keeping the DC7 for the QC? Also an aesthetics question: is anyone aware of a ‘cleaner’ looking solution to the power cables from Cioks to QC. The 4 cables stacked together may work …but if I keep the Cioks for the QC, I’d like a less ‘duct tape and chewing gum’ solution. Thanks

Cioks are bringing out the ‘crux’ next month. That will simplify the cabling.

I couldn’t find any info about the Cioks ‘Crux’ - so I emailed them. I originally thought that ‘The Crux’ was a dedicated 4-to-1 adapter made for the Quad Cortex - but apparently it is a ‘module’ that connects to the 24v output of the DC7. This may not be news to some - but I figured I’d offer it to the Forum for those interested.

ME: “Hi - I own a DC7. I’ve seen in some of the gear threads that Cioks is going to bring out a new cable pack for the Quad Cortex. I know that there is a current work-around using three Cioks Flex cables - but that’s a little too cluttered for my board. Can you confirm whether you are going to be bringing out a dedicated Quad Cortex cable pack for the DC7 - and when we can expect this? Thanks in advance for your help.”

CIOKS: “We are not releasing a “cable pack”'for the Quad Cortex. We have a cabling configuration already that powers the Quad Cortex. We are however in the future releasing a module for the DC7 that allows the use of the 24V outlet to convert to a single 2A outlet with a 9/12V option. The module is called The Crux and will be released sometime in December.”

There you have it.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, The Crux is to simplify the cabling only…

Hello everyone, I have a quad cortex and a cioks dc7. I wanted to comment if someone happened to this since I have a question.

Did any of you use the cioks dc7 at 9 V with the quad cortex? I’ve been running it for several days at 12, yesterday I tested at 9V and it seems that the power supply gets much less hot.

I would like to know if it is a correct voltage at 9 V, or if I should use the 12 V so that nothing happens to my Cortex quad. with 12 v I notice that it gets hotter, with 9v it seems that the cioks has better performance. I look forward to your response and thanks in advance.

The QC requires 12v @ 3a although it will run on 2a.
