For those unaware a stomp version of the ox is coming (without attenuator), so speaker emulations etc.
Might be a daft question but, how would this work with a QC? Would you leave a cab block off the grid before going out to this? Looks interesting and the UA stuff is amazing
My guess is you do it like when connecting anything to the QC, you add an FX loop where you would normally have the cab/ir loader. Then connect through send1 and return1
You probably have to check that global eq and stuff is deactivated also.
Edit: i forgot about global bypass… you can activate global bypass and all cabs/ir loaders and captures marked as cabs will be bypassed
I would go out to the Ox box pedal, and have that route to FOH. I’m assuming it’ll be set up like a DI box and have an XLR out. Would be nice to split out to a real amp/cab for stage sound and the XLR sim for FOH. Right now I need to split to a 4th row for a cab sim XLR, and use the third row for 1/4” to a power amp + cab for stage sound.
I don’t like the added latency from an FX loop on the QC, and don’t like the sound of running the cab sim before effects. Unless you’re running stereo, the effects will always be before the speaker IRL. I’ve always gotten the most familiar/realistic results having the speaker/cab last in the signal chain.
lol. I haven’t had time to mess with it much yet but the first plug and play sounded really good. I put in an FX loop block. This will be very useful for recording and I’m not a fan of the QC’s IRs.
