If hardware/ software permits, I think a great addition to the Nano would be the ability to use the secondary input on the unit, (capture in) as a dry input to trigger the internal effects inside the Nano. This would be most useful for the Gate, which could mimic the behaviour of popular “4 cable gates” Fortin Zuul, Lichtlaerm Key and Gate etc.
Currently i’m running into the issue of threshold settings not working adequately when i engage a hardware boost or fuzz before the nano. The noise/compression/input volume increase and the pedal doesn’t respond as I intended.
The workaround I’ve found is to have separate presets for “with pedal” and “without pedal” but these eat up presets slots for essentially the same sound with some tweaked ratios. A bit of a waste in my humble opinion.
This external threshold could be used as a “Sidechain” to feed the utility gate, but perhaps also the ducker in delays, compressor settings, behaviour of the envelope filters and other features that may yet come.
I think it would be a fantastic QOL addition to an already powerful device.
