Ok. I admit it, plugins are really good on the QC

I am slow to the party. I purchased the Slo100 plugin and once I learned how to dial it in… I get it.

It brings with it effects that make the pedal even better. The Plugins bring the QC up another notch in sound. I am still not crazy about pay to play though. I really think that everyone that invests in the QC should get either the 50% off year round, or at least be entitled to a plugin of choice for free (I know they had a promo at first, but I bought mine after that). It isn’t like we didn’t commit.

But at least the Slo100 is VERY good to my ears. Inspirational for sure. And the presets are great.

What do you think?

It’s been my main crunch/OD sound (in combination with G12M25 and G12EVH IRs) ever since 3.1 was released. I love it, sounds and feels very good. And the SLO comp pedal is my favorite, sounds and behaves just like a Dynacomp. I also use the SLO1 boost pedal quite a bit.

At 50% (I purchased it during Black Friday last year) it’s too good to be true…except it is ! Love it to death.

So far, the Soldano SLO-100 X port is my favorite. It sounds so good. However, I have also discovered that I really like the D.I. Funk Console within Cory Wong for clean tones.

Many of us were already in the Neural “ecosystem” as plug-in owners well before the QC was released. So it’s a relief to finally have [at least some of] our favorite plug-in sounds available on the hardware. I’m personally looking forward to Mesa Mark IIC+ and Granophyre getting the X plug-in treatment and QC port in the future.

I would buy the Mesa.

I have to assume most if not all of the NDSP plugins are really good. I have three of them (Henson X, Rabea X, Plini X) and I am absolutely impressed with all of them. Obviously I can use Plini X on the QC and it is great there as well. I am really looking forward to the next PCOM update which should include my other two plugins. Of course like everyone else, I wish the PCOM dev didn’t take so long and I also agree that NDSP is slacking on adding more functionality, amps, cabs, effects, etc to the QC but I do a lot of recording and I use those 3 plugins a LOT, so it’s not killing me. When I do play out, there is plenty of “gear” in the QC as is to get the job done for me.

I only have the Nolly Plugin available since this was my first plugin - but so far the QC implementation has been better than the plugin itself. I already built a live patch for an upcoming show from one of the Nolly presets cause i like rythm amp a lot for 80s hairmetal stuff!

I have Plini and Gojira and especially Plini has become my standard preset which covers lots of songs.

I also still like the stock models and captures but I feel that the plugins are still an improvement.

I can understand some users complaining about paid upgrades though.

Personally I think if NDSP would offer two free plugins or, as you suggested, a permanent discount for all QC users, everybody would be happy. Ok, let’s say almost everybody:-)

I was an avid NDSP fan long before the QC existed. I had all the plugins, they felt and sounded better than all the competitors I tried. I was really excited to hear the the hardware unit they were working on would be able to run the Plugins I already owned (we all know how that went…)

Over that long interim while we waited for PCOM I grew to appreciate the QC for what it was and had almost started thinking I didn’t care if the plugins ever made it over or not. The QC is definitely ‘good enough.’

However, I’d definitely say I do like the flavors PCOM brings to the QC. To me, some of them are better than what’s already there. Some feel like carbon copies of their QC factory model counterparts, but others are definitely tweaked with a different flavor. I think you could survive just fine without buying any PCOM offerings, but if you already have them they are a pretty welcome addition.

Great post, I pretty much feel the same way as you could read in my above post. I definitely lean on Plini a lot (my only current PCOM plugin) but I also have numerous other QC-specific presets that I’ve built (or modified the factory version). I’m happy as hell with what is in the QC currently but of course we all want new stuff added (PCOM, amps, cabs, effects, etc.). However, I’d rather build some new presets from the existing “stock” than just complain about the pace of development, much more fun for sure!
