No sound from Headphones Output

Hi everyone!

I’m having an issue with the headphone output on my Quad Cortex. I can see the signal coming through the meters, and outputs 1/2 and 3/4 are working fine. However, when I plug headphones into the headphone jack, there’s no sound at all — even with the volume set to 100%.

I’ve already tried resetting the unit to factory settings, but that didn’t help. The headphones obviously work perfectly with other devices, and I’ve set the outputs correctly in my presets.

Any ideas?

Are you sure, you plug your headphones to the headphones jack?

yep, 100% sure.

What is your HP volume in the pull down settings?

At the moment, the headphone volume is at 0.0 dB, but nothing changes whether I raise or lower it. As I mentioned before, though, I can see the signal coming out on the meters (both the HP level and the Multi Out ones).

I would try backing up your QC with Cortex Control, perform a factory reset and restore. If that doesn’t resolve things, please email support@neuraldsp.com and they will get you sorted quickly.

yeah, done that already and no luck. I’ll contact the support, thank you.

when you adjust the master Vol wheel and the assignment menu appears momentarily, it the HP box checked for monitoring? Could it have been accidentally locked at an inaudible level? Not sure that can happen, but that’s the only other area that could affect output levels

nope, it’s all checked and at a proper level, already checked :frowning:

Is the signal dynamically changing while playing the guitar or is it static / frozen?
Sometimes when i start the QC while changing some I/O stuff before power on the Device, it has a bug, which shows frozen/static Output levels. Only thing what helps is power off the QC unplugging everything (speaker cables, usb, guitar input etc) except the power cable. Starting the Qc and THEN plug everything back in.

Maybe try this.

thanks for helping, but I tried all these already (I always plug stuff after I power on the unit) and nothing happens. so strange since the unit is almost brand new!

I forgot to ask, are you powering with the OEM power supply?

yes, the original one that came with the unit.

Sorry, can’t help, but your nickname is great, so underrated guitarist !

AHAH thanks! well, it’s my actual name

I sure wish we could figure this out but it seems you’ve exhausted all possibilities except for mechanical failure. Let us know what support says, it’ll likely need a repair.

yeah, you’re right. thanks to everyone for the help!
