New Quad Core ... Power for Rockboard?

Hey y’all!

New to the Neural fam, moved my FM9 for a QC.

I’m looking to mount my QC, 1-2 expression pedals, and a tuner onto a Rockboard TRES-3.1. I have the Rockboard MOD 1 module for power to the board.

However, I’m having a hard time determining a good option to power the QC - not breaking the bank - but getting the proper Amps to the unit.

Any suggestions? (also would highly prefer to have a right-angled adapter so I avoid any issues)

Cheers!
AP

I’ve put a MyVolts 12V under my Rockboard, works great for only powering the QC.
This way i don’t have to replug the ridiculous power cable from the QC often (it’s persistent plugged in there, and i only replug the cable on the MOD, when i need to)

Genuinely curious as to why? What made you move? I’m in the opposite boat, thinking of changing from QC to Fractal. If you could give any pointers as to why, I would appreciate as I don’t want to make a wrong move.

So let me just state this from the outset - I don’t think there’s a wrong decision. Both units are excellent, and I don’t think you’ll go wrong with either.

For me, it was personal preference. I always find myself struggling with the Fractal UI - even with the desktop editor, I still stumbled around with the settings. It just never felt intuitive to me. And with how often I can really sit down and dedicate time to learning it, I’d rather have a UI that makes more sense and gives me more time to play.

That being said, there are some tremendous YT’ers out there that can help with that side of Fractal.

I also wanted a smaller form factor, without giving up foot switches. The FM3 is great but I don’t want to be layering that many options. The QC has the right size and the right amount of switches for me to do everything I want.

The fact I can mount it to a pedalboard with an expression pedal, which I really couldn’t do with the FM9, is a big plus.

My dad still is a big Fractal guy and I’m sure he’ll be disappointed to know I’m changing  but honestly, he has some phenomenal tones with it and he wouldn’t change it for the world. But I’ve got 3 young kids and life is crazy, where he’s got more time to dedicate to being an expert on the system. So that’s probably the biggest driver for me.

Hope this helps!!
