Hi guys. I’m trying to figure out if I go with a Midi Captain Mini 6 (Morningstar MC6 Pro is really expensive and I’m not sure they’ll deliver to my country).
I’d like to know if there’s any way of making the NC send the midi status (like say, FX slot 1 on or off) to the midi controller over TRS - Midi 5 PIN.
As I’ve seen the Captain has Midi In and Midi Out (5 PIN) and USB-B.
Basically my idea is to set it up to turn on and off effects and have some visual feedback and also use the NC as an audio interface. That’s why I want to free up the USB on te NC. Also if doing patch changes on the NC, to have a visual representation of the name and number of that patch.
Any ideas or recommendations?
Currently I’m using Ampero Control (I already had it before the NC) and it works halfway. Since I’m not changing banks on the Ampero, usually when you switch banks in NC, you need to double tap the footswitches to get them to work, because they remember their last state.
And that’s why I want a visual representation. Let’s say I’m on patc 1A in NC and every FX block is off and I switch to patch 1B, and it has reverb ON. I want to know that it’s on and also, that, say, pressing footswitch 1 on the Captain will trigger FX1. All of this while maintaining USB-C audio interface capabilities.
