Controlling Nano Cortex with Quad Cortex via MIDI

My bassist just switched from the HX Stomp to the Nano Cortex.

I was able to control the HX Stomp via “Preset MIDI Out” on the Quad Cortex, but I can’t seem to get that going with the N.C.

I’ve tried two different TRS to MIDI cables, but still nothing.

Is this even possible? Or am I stuck plugging the N.C. via USB and controlling it that way?
