I’m running my NC into the front of my amp and noticed that if I globally defeat the IR it starts clipping really bad and this is with the output gain normalized to bypassed.
It’s fine with the IR loader but since I’m using my own speaker I thought it would be better to just turn off the IR.
Any thoughts?
As you are, I’m running my Nano in front of my current amp (150w Crate Power Block, all transistors) + 1x12 Vintage Celestion homemade cab). I disabled globally the Irs feature, and it sounds good., with no clipping without doing anything at tweaking the presets. I tried the same settings with my other (tube) amps, and it’s true that the amps are breaking sooner.
I’ve got the feeling that gain staging with this little beast is quite tricky. Maybe you could try to use the effects loop of your amp rather than the main input. Trial and error…

Yeah, I’m going to abandon trying to use it with my DeCillia as there’s no return to power amp but I am goi g to revert to my Smallbox combo.
Can you plug into the return on the effects loop? Going into the front you’re probably clipping because you’re essentially running a preamp into a preamp. Plug it into the the power amp directly and that little box will come to life. Hope this helps
Yes I’m going into the return of a different amp now and it’s been great.
