Anyone close to Knoxville, TN that could spare some time to help with navigating through Cortex Cloud with the Nano Cortex. Im an amp guy and feel lost in understanding how to build presets. The tone is there I just need help understanding how to pair amps and IR/cabs. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks.
Welcome! Have you looked at any of Neurals deep dives on YouTube?
I’ll keep looking into it. I watched one but it seemed to inform on just the general settings and features. Im still very new to this.
I would use a comp od amp cab/ir delay reverb… Some modulation efects I sometimes put b4 the amp and sometimes after the cab… I don’t have a Nano but that’s my general setup chain wise… On the amp and ir thing’ what ever amp you choose you could then Google what speaker that amp used originally and try use that ir, if you don’t have the speaker ir’ you could try and purchase an ir using that speaker or again Google what is similar to the original speaker..also check to see if the built in cabs are the right one or similar
Copy. Yeah I understand the signal chain and how/where to place effects before/after. Some of the “amps” say amp and cab. Do I need to have an IR/cab then? How do I purchase the IRs from companies and get them to my presets if they arent offered through cortex cloud? Thanks for the advice everyone!
OK cool… Well ir’s aren’t necessary but some people prefer them than the built in cabs… If you are using an amp and cab you don’t need an ir or you wouldn’t use an ir with a cab generally… If you’ve tried all the cabs and you aren’t happy with any then you could purchase some ir’s… There’s a few that do them like York audio ownhammer etc etc..you check out there website purchase the ir’s you like or are looking for download and then transfer them to the Nano… It has an ir loader and you use that instead of a built in cab
I downloaded an Amalgam amp+cab from the library and it was really noisy until I used one of the preloaded IRs the nano came with and didn’t know how to separate the amp and cab to get I to sound right. Im going to try and purchase a couple plexi captures I heard through Amalgams YouTube channel. Purchasing the matching cab makes good sense I just hope it sounds better than what I originally downloaded.
