Muddy sound - but I sound good in studio?

I don’t know what is wrong.
I have some setups (crunch, heavy distorsion, etc…) that sounds very muddy to me. With a clear lack of attack and dynamic, especially when I palm mute.

I plug this to my focusrite interface that is directly going out to my monitors.

I was about to give up until I went on studio for a rehearsal and the sound was just AMAZING.
I don’t know what they are using exactly, but I was plugged in a Palmer DI, which I supposed is connected to their mixer.

Then I came back home.

First, I suspected the lack of balanced cable usage (I was not using one). I was thinking maybe the DI was fixing everything so I bought one TRS cable to have the same behavior as a DI, but it doesn’t change anything (except that the volume is a bit higher).

Then I tried to listen to the sound with my headphones and this is quite similar to what I have in the monitors.

I suspected a very good EQ that they set in the studio, so I tried to adjust the EQ in cubase, but in vein, nothing works. It is not dramatically different as it is when I was in the studio.

Do you face a similar issue ? Any idea ?
I tried with multiple guitars, with the ground lift on and off, different gain and volume settings… (And of course different presets), nothing changes.
I’m using the USB port as the power input.

I’m experiencing the same after update. I was not sure if it was only me. Thanks for posting.

That’s true that I had updated the firmware but I’m not 100 % sure it was like that before or after.
It might be the firmware indeed.

But did you notice that you have a better sound in studio or it is just a general problem for you wherever you are plugging it ?
