My monitor is … a giant Samsung monitor! the 34" curved CJ791.
I’m have two 27in Samsung curved. I’d really like to keep using them lol
I’ll post here in case someone runs across this problem. I run the QC in my bedroom, mostly, but sometimes I run it elsewhere in my home. I noticed that when I use another plug other than the one in my bedroom, there was substantial hum when using high gain amps - like, intolerable. My home must have some dirty power/ground. I tried a Furman power conditioner on the plugs not in my bedroom and it did not do a thing - hum still present and loud. So I went about trying to figure out why my bedroom outlet didn’t present the hum while the others did and here is my conclusion… When I’m in my bedroom, I also have a Line 6 FRFR hooked up using the QC’s XLR Output 1. That is the only difference. So, I hooked u the QC to a plug outside my bedroom and also hooked up my Line 6 FRFR to the XLR Output 1 (like in my bedroom) and…
- With the Line 6 FRFR power plugged into outlet (doesn’t need to be turned on), the hum was gone.
- As soon as I unplugged the power of the Line 6 from the wall, the hum was present.
After some research, it looks like the QC is not grounded so it’s very susceptible to dirty power/bad ground. However, when using the XLR output and running to a device that IS grounded, it relieved the hum. Some ppl are hooking up the ground of a plug to a USB cable and then plugging the USB cable into the QC to eliminate the hum. I am awaiting a cable to test and see if I can use Output 2 to connect to a DI box with a “virtual ground” to eliminate the hum as I use my USB to hook up my MacBook almost every time I use my QC.
I hope this helps someone.
