Mono ambience block or early reflection in the cab block

Title really. I use my QC for recording and have a dry mono output after my cab routed to my DAW, where I typically add time effects afterwards. The QC’s ambience block is perfect for giving that ‘amp in a room’ feel, without using a reverb plugin in the DAW. However, this is only available in stereo, and recording just one side sounds odd. Something equivalent to Kemper’s ‘Space’ which was available in mono would be great to have.

I would suggest using the IR block instead of the Cab block, and then you can add in a Room mix within the IR block. That will help with the “in the room” feel.

Thanks… I’ll bear that in mind. I actually prefer a couple of the built in cabs to most of my IRs (York, OH, WT etc). It’s not a massive deal to add ambience afterwards, but it would save me a plugin slot in the DAW. The legacy Helix cabs have an early reflection effect which does this really nicely, even if the cabs themselves don’t sound that great these days.

Totally agree! It would be nice to have a “room mix” with the built in cab models too, just like the IR blocks.
