I haven’t bought one yet. I am confused by the MIDI out implementation for the QC. I’m seeing that you can send 1 MIDI message on scene load, but I’m not seeing in the manual where to do that.
Then in the manual I see that you can assign up to 12 messages per footswitch. If I’m in scene mode, does that mean I can assign 13 messages on scene load. (not really scene load. 1 for scene load and 12 for the footswitch)? I don’t need that many but I do need more than 1.
All midi is in the midi menu → three dots in top right, then ‘Preset MIDI out’.
You can have up to 12 messages sent when you load a preset, then 12 whenever you press a footswitch. Plus each expression pedal can control 4 CCs.
The issue is (or isn’t) that the messages are not tied to the mode that you are in. So if you want to use scenes and stomps and switch between them, whatever messages you have set for footswitch A will be sent when you select Scene A, but also when you activate Stomp A.
These are also triggered if you use an external midi controller to activate a Scene or Stomp.
There are quite a few feature requests for changes to the midi implementation currently.
Thanks. I don’t have a QC yet but my intention is to almost exclusively use scenes. That’s what I do with my HX Stomp right now. While it would be great to have MIDI tied to the scene, I think if it’s tied to the footswitch then that can work for me. I just need to send a bunch of MIDI PC/CC at scene change to control other pedals.
Have you experimented with this yourself? Cause “on preset load message” does not appear to be processing “cc” commands, only PC. The A-H switches work but not the loadout CC’s. Im wondering if this is a glitch and should be reported or im missing something.
I use it all he time. I have a MIDI->DMX converter that runs our lights based on what patch/scene I’m on.
I’ve not noticed any issues after recent updates, and it’s all done on CCs.
