Would be awesome to be able to apply effects only to the mid or sides to create a polished studio effect quality sound and get everything to sit in the mix. For example, in my rig I would want my dry signal in the middle, and apply compression just to the middle of wet effects so it retains the width of my delays/reverbs but clarity of the middle dry signal, and EQ out the Bass in the middle so the bass player sits better in the mix.
It seems as though great minds are thinking alike here. I thought this would be a stereo Mid/Side encoding request but it’s really a Wet/Dry/Wet encoding request. I also requested a wet/dry/wet feature here: Wet/Dry/Wet (Kill Dry) Option
Perhaps we should combine these into one feature request?
Also, I voted for this.
Thanks! I think these are a bit different - mid/side is really a mixing technique to just apply effects more or less to the mid or sides, not splitting different parts of the signal (which outside of the box is really a tracking technique).
I already am using the QC with a wet/dry/wet setup actually… you split the signal early in the chain, have one split run through an amp/cab and out, then the second split go through your fx loop send/return then through another amp/cab and out. You could do the same thing with the onboard effects without the fx loop. I have the send amount for the initial split controllable by scene, so in scene A it only goes to the stereo wet signal (kill dry) and scene B goes to both splits (wet/dry/wet). Then mix the amount to each split and adjust volume of each amp to taste.
Hopefully that helps!
