Lush clean presets

Hello :waving_hand:

A beginner here, especially at making tones.

I have a Strandberg Boden Essential and a Laney LX 10, which I use through the Nano Cortex. I, for one, am a sucker for really good clean tones. I love chordal playing and just noodling around the neck with clean patches.

I am currently really digging the “Clean my Dreams” and “Clean 80s” factory presets shipped with the Nano Cortex.

Do you folks have any other recommendations for captures from the pool of presets present in the Cortex Cloud to get good clean tones?

I know the output can still be affected a lot by the amp one uses, so I have ordered an FRFR HeadRush Go, which should be with me soon.

Best advice is to dive in feet first and see what works for you. How much gain you have going into the capture block will dictate how clean your tone is.

I’ve read it takes about a month to get your head straight with how to best use these things in your rig and I agree.

If you’re new to the Nano Cortex I would suggest you start with using the excellent amp captures that are already included in the pedal. They give, in combination with the new FX since version 2.0 of the Nano Cortex, tons of variation.

For example; Load the presets “clean my dreams” and swap out the amp capture to any of the other captures in bank 1. (The banks of captures are categorised in clean, edge, crunch, high gain and bass in the factory settings.)

Then add the VCA Comp (M) compressor to the first PRE fx slot and switch out the reverb in the last FX slot to the “mind hall”.

I find the edge and bass captures in the factory content also works for clean tones. If you lower the gain (the knob on the Nano) amp captures cleans up, some better than others.
