So I’m trying out different routing options. One of the things I absolutely love about the Quad Cortex is that it has made my setup incredibly simple.
Guitar → Quad Cortex → Out 1/2 to FOH // Out 3/4 to Seymour Duncan Powerstage 100 Stereo
That is by far the most flexible and easiest setup I ever had. It sounds amazing and it is absolutely future-proof.
Which is why I invested in a second QC to have a spare. So I’m basically “All in”
So now it is about figuring out the best software routing.
So I would argue that my needs here are again not THAT complicated.
Here is what I came up with:
With this I have digital Wet/Dry/Wet which I can control with the Equalizers and then only have 2 Stereo signals, one with cab and one without. (CPU is at 33% with all that is going on that is pretty cool)
I have two gripes with this setup.
- I have to connect a physical cable from send 1 to return one and have the signal DA/AD converted because as far as I know there is no way to rout the signal digitally from row one to three without sacrificing one of the 4 output slots on the right.
- 2 whole rows are effectively wasted just for cabs. It’s not horrible I don’t need that many effects and I still have some space. But I would still be more happy it all was a bit more compact.
So I’m open to suggestions on how to run this more effectively. I’m sure there are advanced routing options I’m not even aware of.
