Kemper Kone Speaker Imprint capture

Hi, any dual Kemper / QC users ever try capturing a Kemper Kone Speaker imprint to use with the Kemper Power Kabinet? It’s my favorite monitor since it’s not FRFR but more like a guitar cab - but it requires the Kemper imprints. I’m wondering if it would be possible to capture the imprint to use on QC. Any thoughts or has anyone tried?

Hello tkm
Yes, I did that some time ago. It kind of worked but in the end I was not impressed.
At this time I was playing a Kemper through 2x12 Kemper Kone.
When I bought the Quad Cortex I did not want to loose the Kone feature. But as soon as I started using real guitar cabs with a (tube) power amp together with my Quad Cortex I did not want to go back to the Kemper Kone. It sounds very good, but it can’t keep up with a real guitar cab, equipped with for example Celection V-Type Speakers. It just gives me a much better feel, even for playing at home at low volume.

Thanks. Yeah, a real cab is always going to sound better, but that comes at the cost of losing much of the convenience that digital gear provides. Did you think the QC through the Kones with the profiled imprints sounded as good as the Kemper does? Did the profiling do a convincing job of recreating the effect built into the Kemper? I see people saying that it is something dynamic and intrinsic to the Kemper, but I suspect it is probably just a corrective EQ. I found some IRs made to replicate it that to me seems to do a pretty good job. Was wondering if a profiler could recreate the effect any better. I also wonder if V2 captures would make a difference since the dynamics improved so much with that.

Honestly, the difference was huge. Running the QC into my Mooer Tube Engine and a real guitar cab just felt way better than using it with the Kone. At that point, the Kone simply didn’t make sense to me anymore.
To my ears, the QC + Kone combo didn’t sound as good as a Kemper with the Kone. The real winner was the QC into a (more or less neutral) tube power amp and real guitar speakers. That setup just felt right.
Personally, I don’t really care about all the digital flexibility if it can’t keep up in any of the use cases.
Maybe V2 could make a difference, but I can’t check it anymore, sold my Kemper yesterday
