HI - New QC owner here. I will primarily be using it live.
I’d love to use my little external momentary non-latching footswitch (like this one: MXR® TAP TEMPO SWITCH - Dunlop) to set tap tempo via TRS into one of the expression jacks… I cannot find this functionality nor anything about it online. is this possible?
For one, I’d rather be stomping on a 30 dollar little switch over and over again and not the rotary encoder switch on my 1600 dollar QC ( I know they’re rugged… but still why put the wear and tear on it?).
And secondly, with the TRS cable and footswitch, I can position the tap tempo switch off of the raised pedal board and around the side on the ground-level stage where it is more convenient and ergonomic to tap rhythm into.
My plan B would be to get a midi pedal like the DA micro.clock and send timecode via midi to the QC… but I’m planning on using the QC as my MIDI send brain to control a four other pedals / parameters per scene and don’t want to have to juggle midi timecode in and forwarded on from the micro.clock while the scene buttons on the QC send PC / CC changes to everything else. Seems like inviting problems / complications.
And I’d rather not have to spend another 130 bucks for a DA micro.clock if i don’t have to when I think the QC should be able to handle this kind of thing.
Anyone else looking for external TRS tap tempo control into an expression jack?
Anyone have any insights? Is this doable today? Any other solutions that I’m not thinking of?
Let me know and thank you!
