Configurable "tap tempo" and "current scene" footswitches

With all the features and possibilities of the Quad Cortex, I often run out of buttons.
I would love to have the ability to configure a button for a special feature, e.g. to:

  • behave like an external footswitch (expression)
  • send a MIDI CC to the QC itself or outside

For this, I would love to use:

  • the tap tempo button, which I often don’t need
  • the “current scene” button: this is a well-known concept e.g. in the Roland/Boss world: pressing the button that corresponds to the current scene doesn’t do anything, but it could be a configurable action, so, e.g. if I am in Scene F and I press “F”, the looper performance view pops up.

This could also be a great way to have a very configurable “hybrid mode” without much hassle and it would not change anything if people don’t use it.

Thanks!

This would be huge improvement!
And it would be incredibile if it would be implemented with double tap or long tap option for each footswitch!

If nothing else, allow us to remap the Tap Tempo on a per preset basis so that it can either be straight to tuner, or to control anything else like any of the other switches.

I like the “current scene” button idea as well.

Basically I would like more configurable stomp switches. The Line6 products basically let you do this, any button can become nearly anything, including expression switches. No reason this can’t happen on the QC. I moved from the Helix family of units to the QC for the footprint, but there is still some catching up to do in terms of customization. Although there are some things the QC already does better than the Helix line.
