Is it possible to position fx loop 2 in 2 separate places within one preset, to use one at a time between different scenes?

I am using an eventide h9 and want it at end of one scene to use reverb, and earlier on in another scene to use modulation.

When I try to add a second fx loop block, I am only able to select fx loop 1.

Scenes can’t add, remove or change the model in a block (unlike Fractal Audio where each block has 4 channels that can contain different models of the same block type).

You cannot configure it that way

Have you experimented with the Transparent Blend? It’s essentially a digital patch bay/FXLoop. You might be able to reintroduce the fx-loop elsewhere in the signal path thru it. I haven’t tried that (I will now) but it might be doable. It might need to be in a parallel Lane from the FX-loop to keep them individually controllable

Interesting, no I have not.

I’m very new to the quad and haven’t gone far into the utility section beyond the adaptive gate.

I’ll see if I can whip up a template for you when I’m back at my QC (unless someone beats me to it)

can you either post a pic of your preset or upload it to the cloud so I can work with what devices you need. I think I’ve got it solved but it requires a parallel split and I want to make sure it’ll work with your intended signal path

Amazing. Thank you for putting the time in. I will try and get a screenshot of the preset I have set up when I am next by the quad cortex, but this is an issue I’d love to resolve and build into future set ups, so I’m happy to rework my settings.

here is the rest I have so far. Ideally I would be able to have the same fx loop (number 2) where it is for this scene, and change it to where the first modulation block is (pre amp) for another scene.

it is an eventide h9 which I realise can be configured to use both ins and outs to use it pre and post amp, but I want to be able to run it in stereo so that configuration isn’t an option.

ok, I’ll see what I can do. Can’t duplicate all devices based on the pic, but I can either put placeholders or perhaps you can upload your preset to the cloud?

Are you using both sends and returns for full stereo?

We won’t be able to maintain stereo field in the pre-amp section, the amp will sum it to mono.

Thank you again.

Placeholders would be more than useful for me as this is something I would like to achieve over several presets with varying QC blocks.

I was hoping to use both sends and returns for stereo field - but currently researching if there is a creative way of using rows, splitters or output 3 input 2 to somehow achieve a second fx loop to the stereo one. But that is another matter.

hitting some perplexing snags here- I’ll keep digging.

I’ll keep working when I have more time, but it may be that this won’t work after all. I’ve never tried the Blend w/ the FX Loop before, and apparently there are some restrictions as to where it can be placed in relation to the loop. Workarounds either sacrifice a stereo spread or have phasing/feedback issues. I’ll keep trying, but it may be that this isn’t the solution I’d hoped it was.

Using row 3 + a splitter/mixer + the effects loop will add a lot of latency to the QC. Wouldn’t be surprised if you felt a delay in the signal running through all of that with the H9 as well.

I don’t see a way you can adjust where the effects loop is. I would suggest having multiple devices before/after the H9 that adjust their settings/bypass depending on the scene. This way you can have effects before or after the effects loop.
