In case you had a question about the specs for the Input combo jacks:

Appreciate your reply and clarification. We’ve double checked this with the hardware engineers and it appears there is indeed a typo in the Quad Cortex manual.

It should read the following and we’ll update it ASAP -

INPUTS 1/2

  • CONNECTOR: (2) XLR-F + ¼ “ TS/TRS-F (GROUND LIFT)

  • XLR IMPEDANCE: 3.8KΩ

  • TS/TRS IMPEDANCE: 10KΩ - 10MΩ

  • MAX INPUT GAIN: +60dB

So yes, the combo inputs 1/2 on Quad Cortex accept TRS balanced connections.

The Mic / Instrument TYPE toggle, switches between the two physical types of connections, either XLR or a ‘jack’ TS/TRS connection - it is not switching between balanced / unbalanced. This was necessary as to make sure Phantom Power was not accidentally applied to a jack cable (TS/TRS).

The combo inputs accept a balanced or unbalanced signal from either XLR or jack cable.
