Idea re: Third party QC protection

I was looking into this, but it’s not really my strength so I’m just gonna throw it out there for someone else to solve…

While these screen and QC protectors are great at protecting the screen from impact, they don’t protect the units from spills happening above the unit (and my guess is that there’s more than one person that has some kind of liquid near their rig, be it draft or bottle… lol).

Someone should design a silicone sleeve to fit over the switches - I picture something like a baby bottle nipple - it can be stepped on, and the bottom can be an adhesive that sticks to a screen protector to create a seal to a plexiglass protector. That way, when you lift the protector off, the button protectors come with it.

This would likely need to happen along with some sort of switch cap to prevent chewing through the silicone by stepping on it…

Just a thought. I’m surprised I haven’t seen it already, to be honest. At my gigs a QC would be more likely to get beer spilled on it than have something land on it… maybe compared to you guys, my band isn’t drinking enough. lol

“QC Condom” is a bit of an untapped market I think

but if you were to ‘tap it’ you would definitely want protection.

Gig safe!

Ha! Very good. I think though, that if your venue were truly swimming in lager, your QC would be safer in a shelf or up on a table and use a midi foot controller on a long cable for the gig, less at stake altogether. It may be worth the price of the controller after all ……
