Before the cloud update, I could see the names of the last captures I downloaded in the download history. Now, they’re sorted by relevance or the date they were added to the cloud, not when they were downloaded to the QC.
How do you guys find the new captures among all the ones in the download folder on the QC without having to write down the names somewhere?
I guess they expect you to either save or delete them fairly quickly to keep that folder manageable. There’s no way to sort by when they were DL’d unfortunately, as you mentioned.
One workaround (if you’re going to keep stuff in that Downloads folder, which is meant to be a temporary holding area) would be to clear the Download History folders in your NDSP Cloud account every so often, then you could look at it and see what’s new since the last time you cleared it
I have an “Incoming” folder for both captures and presets. That allows me to keep my Downloads folder clear. There is a ton of storage on the QC, so no worries about downloading too many captures.
One other thing I’ve noticed… If you download presets with embedded captures, the QC will ask you where to place the preset, but it does not ask about the capture location. Those are simply dumped into your “My Captures” folder. I also drag those into my “Incoming” folder to keep everything in one place until I decide if I am keeping it. It’s a little OCD, but it works for me.
I’m the OCD type, so I’ve created subfolders for both guitar and bass with subfolders under each for each capture type (DI, amp & cab, pedal, etc). This does seem to be the easiest way to manage captures as well as IRs (I do the same with them).
