I recently discovered the quantize feature within the looper. But I don’t understand how to use it. If I set the BPM to the desired tempo and set quantize at say 4 beats, I now have a 4/4 in X BPM. Great. But I can’t see or hear it when recording my first loop. Or am I missing something?
Any tips on this matter?
Am I the only one who uses the looper?
No one can be bothered to bend down to swipe it open.
But on a serious note, i haven’t experimented with the quantize function. I’ll try to dig a little deeper. I likes a challenge. See ya in a month
I didn’t even know there was a quantize feature. I will give it a bash and let you know. Sounds like if you set the bpm you would need an audible metronome to be able to keep in rough time for it even to be of any use.
are you using it with an external midi device?
Because on first glance (just now getting to experiment) when you turn on ‘Quantize’ it also enables the corresponding “MIDI CLOCK START” setting next to it, which to me indicates it may be intended to synchronize and quantize with an external signal or tempo. I’ll keep digging though.
silly me; it’s all right in the manual. I should’ve looked there first. I just haven’t really done a deep-dive on the sampler, I only use it for tweaking tones:
Right. But because the QC has no metronome and doesn’t provide any sound for this, I don’t see how to use it on it’s own.
Yeah, other than going by the flashing tempo LED it makes for a pretty tricky “silent count-in”
More useful if triggered by external midi device I’d think
I used it for a show where I was playing to a click. I had the QC recieving clock from an external source, then set the start/end to be quantised to a bar I think.
Worked great, but only really used it for a couple of rehearsals and a show, then haven’t needed to do that again.
