NanOS 2.0.0 introduced a short Audio Gap when switching presets.
That audio gap is a deal breaker for live shows.
Any solution to this would be appreciated, even if it would be the possibility to downgrade the system to NanOS 1.0 or something like a different mode that comes with other downsides. Just anything would be helpful so this device is can be used in live shows again.
But downgrading would just be one possible solution for my problem. If there’s anything else to avoid the audio gap, that would also be satisfying for my request.
60ms is a proper figure. This is switching presets in the middle of a bass note. At worst, from highest peak to peak, it is about 72 ms. I’m not saying it’s not noticeable, but NDSP is not lying to you.
Hi. That would be great if they made it possible to downgrade FW. I asked support for regarding that. Below is the answer. I am actually shocked about the answer. If I understand it correctly, the gap was expected due to new features! This makes me as a customer little bit angry, unsettled and concerned, as what I can expect next…. next FW version with new features = more gap? Or other trade offs? That is NOT what I was buying. (sorry for my English, not a native)
I am also a bit disappointed wit h the gap overall because it was one of the points because I bought this unit instead others and because it was a selling point from neural dsp. So I hope they will be consistent and at some point they will fixed with an update as they did with plugin compatibility in the QC. Anyway I am thinking to sell the unit and go for another brand if they don’t fix or give an option to this issue. It is a pity because the nano cortex sounds incredible and could be the best small unit on the market if they fix this and other small things.
Not that you should have to buy an external midi controller to handle switching but using one really does make a noticeable difference.
0.06 is really not that obvious, especially in a mix.
We need to be able to select preset switching on down press and disable long press. It’s not natural to time a release especially since you cannot hold the button pressed without triggering another mode.
Really strange they added a gap to the preset switches……wasn’t gapless switching part of what they originally advertised for the Nano, and still is listed on dealer websites??
Actually I did buy a midi switcher (also because of the trigger-on-release “feature”) to have more switches and it is not gapless at all after the update. It is a noticeable interference in sound.
So, yeah, one of the selling point is out of the window.
